Not long ago, I wrote in The One Beauty Product I Truly Love about the jojoba oil I apply to my skin.
Other than almond oil, which I also use as a topical oil, olive oil is the only other oil I use.
I absolutely love olive oil, and I use it quite liberally.
What I didn’t realise is that if you drink a shot every morning, it has some wonderful benefits.
The possible benefits of drinking olive oil.
- If you drink a shot of olive oil every morning, it can help your joints. This is due to its anti-inflammatory properties.
- Olive oil contains large amounts of antioxidants, which can reduce the risk of serious diseases and promote heart health.
- Olive oil may help reduce weight when used in conjunction with a Mediterranean diet or an already healthy diet. However, the study results are inconsistent regarding the likelihood of weight gain or loss when consuming olive oil. I am guessing it will depend on the rest of your diet and how it affects you.
- Digestive health improves when imbibing olive oil, as it has antibacterial properties. Olive oil fights up to eight strains of bacteria.
