The Hashtag that Annoys Me when used to Describe Photography.
Some people use this hashtag as what seems like a badge of honour. It isn’t.
We live in the 21st century with a plethora of technology at our fingertips. Technology is a part of our future journey, whether we love it or hate it. We could live without it, but this would no doubt mean a gradual dropback to the Stone Age.
Most forms of technology aim to improve and simplify our lives.
Here is my experience with technology in photography and social media.
Using film to shoot.
I started out using film in cameras. I had no choice; that was the only way to get pictures developed. It was, in some ways, a halcyon time in photography, and in other ways, not.
The plus side was not worrying too much over settings. It was raw and uncomplicated. I shot what I saw, then waited for the results.
The downside was that you had to wait days, or even a week, to see the results. I have never been a patient person, and this did not wash well with me.
Fast forward.
Many years have passed since film was the only option, and I’ve experimented with cameras and software along the way.
