Tales from the Riverbank — Weather Destruction
We walk along the river path every day. This is the first time I have seen such serious damage to a tree.
The weeping willows are special, and it made me sad to see the way this branch had so brutally snapped off. Thankfully, the council has removed it now.
High winds over the weekend and heavy rain no doubt contributed to this damage. It’s a good thing it didn’t hit anyone.
Either that or Lord Horatio Harnser (the heron) has been eating rather well and gained a few pounds.
This is the first year we have seen the river flood so much. It seems the weather is becoming more extreme and causing notable changes along the Wensum here in Norwich.
