My YouTube Odyssey Continues
Here is why I am loving it for book promotion.
First off, it’s partly because of YouTube that I haven’t posted any articles here since January. My apologies.
With a new book to promote, I became obsessed with creating videos to entertain my potential book-buying audience. Plus, I set up a merchandise website to complement the book.
This is how I continually make a rod for my own back and then beat myself with it.
It is fun, but it is also the thing that gets me reaching for my phone at 2 a.m. to note ideas for the channel. Every time I go out, I am videoing something that fits my own mentally logged brief.
Then, of course, there are the captions and voiceovers.
It’s a 24/7 creative obsession.
My subscribers have almost hit 50. This may not sound a lot, but I’ve worked my socks off to lure each and every one of them. With every new subscriber, the pressure grows to entertain them and to continue to lure more.
As if it weren’t enough to do this for YouTube, I’ve been creating for TikTok too.
Then, of course, Facebook, Instagram, X, and Pinterest.
Every platform has different video format requirements. This adds to the madness.
