Merchandise for Authors & Bloggers — a great way to market what you do.
I just don’t feel our craft is always celebrated enough. Authors and bloggers deserve to have more gifts! I have created a collection of merchandise to create a fun way for authors and bloggers to advertise what they do.
Time and time again I hear that authors don’t like the marketing part of their writing, and I get it, I really do. We work so hard on our writing, it’s not easy to find the energy to then market it. Then it hit me, if authors have a great t-shirt to wear, or a cap, or stickers and notebooks declaring what they do, they can advertise what they do all the time, with a little less energy.
I found this recently when wearing my ‘As Rebellious as Kett’ t-shirt, people stop to ask me where I got it, it’s a great feeling to say it’s my design! This particular t-shirt refers to a local historical event. It got me thinking that it would be great to create an author collection to create the same kind of attention.
Of course, we aren’t mingling with crowds everyday (usually we are tucked away hitting the keyboard), but we do go out and socialise, or to the supermarket, or to the day job. Wearing a t-shirt, top or cap, is a great way to get the conversation started.
I have created a collection over at Redbubble to celebrate authorship in many forms. There are genres to choose from too. I am working on expanding the collection, so please bear with me while I include as many genres as possible.
If you want a personalised design created, please feel free to get in touch, either here or via Redbubble or via my website. You will also find me on Twitter and Instagram.
A great way to make your readers feel valued is to give them a little gift like a sticker or magnet, a post card or poster. I often see chocolate handed out over at Twitter, but I think keepsakes are even better. People love that connection with the authors they enjoy.
With the sun out (here in the UK) it’s the perfect time to don a t-shirt to show the world what you are about!
I am always trying to think up new ways to market my writing, I hope my ideas can help you too.
