How Cold Makes my Brain Work more Efficiently.
In these past few months of winter, I have been at my most productive. I don’t like being cold, but somehow it seems to suit my brain.
Or is it that I am less distracted by the blue sky, tweeting birds, and thoughts of sailing into the sunset?
Winter is no fun. Not unless you have a good fall of snow to play in.
The sunnier days are helpful when you are a photographer, and autumn and winter sunsets, in my opinion, are the best.
I love the summer. I work on the balcony when the weather allows. However, the heat can make me sluggish. The thought of escaping to the coast or on country walks outweighs the desire for productivity.
But has my productivity recently gone up merely because I am cold? I never turn my heater on. I wait until the cold is really bothering me before I put a heater on. Sometimes I don’t even know how cold I am until I get up from my computer.
When I say cold, I don’t mean unbearably cold. You don’t want to be shivering or turning blue. But I was just on the edge of being uncomfortable.
