Four Tips for Photography when you are beginner.

I have been a photographer since my teens, both as a hobby and professionally. For the last ten years, I have sold my prints at shows and online. Here are my five tips for beginners in photography:

Follow your own path

We all have photographers we admire. Many years ago mum gave me a book on David Bailey, and although I absolutely loved his work, I didn’t try to copy him. Over the years, I have experimented in most genres of photography, and I work on what I enjoy the most (landscapes, architecture, and street photography).

The photographers I follow the most at the moment are Nadav Kander and David Yarrow, but I also keep an eye out for what Annie Leibovitz is up to. I also follow lots of Norfolk photographers; we have an abundance of talented ones here.

A photographer doesn’t have to be famous for you to learn from them.
Certainly, learn from other photographers, but develop your own style.
Don’t be afraid to show people your work.

If you are proud of your photography, show it off. Don’t be shy. It’s another way to learn.
