Five Reasons Why Your Photos Will Not Sell.

It’s one thing to shoot photos, quite another for people to want to buy your prints.

All too often I see people trying to sell their photo prints online, and they can’t work out why they don’t make sales.

Photography is highly competitive, but this isn’t necessarily why your photographs do not sell.

Here are five possible reasons.

  1. You haven’t chosen a niche.

I’ve seen people join a print-on-demand site and upload a variety of pictures, from cute shots of their pet hamster to a sunset to a bicycle or a racing car. This immediately confuses any potential buyer.

Once you establish yourself in one type of photography, it doesn’t mean you can’t present a diverse collection, but first, make sure your niche is clearly landscapes, cityscapes, wildlife, nature, street, or macro photography.

2. Poor editing.

Art is subjective. If you are taking photographs to suit yourself, this is fine. But if you want a potential customer to buy your work, you must pick your presentation carefully.
