Exploring new ways to promote a book — video cartoons.
Almost every day I read about book marketing and promotion. I published my first eBook in 2012, and I am still learning!
A couple of weeks ago, I published a new book, and now the marketing climb begins. I have done all the usual things: promoting my book on social media, creating a page for my website, sending copies out to friends and family, and setting up a Goodreads profile. I’ve written a press release too.
But I am always looking for something new to try, and I hit upon using the main character in my book to create a YouTube channel. My new book is written under another name, and it is the first time I have written a book that will appeal to children and adults. So, the marketing spectrum is wide.
I have dabbled with YouTube before, but not to this extent. The new video shorts are proving to be a good way to promote my character and his story. Of course, it is quite a bit of extra work, but it is fun and a bit of an adventure.
