A Publishing Podcast Comes to My Rescue!
To my mind, it is a gem of a find.
By the end of last year, I had completed my third book in a series.
As ever, the temptation lay in wanting to publish it right away on Amazon.
This is always a big mistake — instant gratification rarely goes well.
I am fully aware I have not yet fulfilled the marketing potential of the published books, and I am determined not to do the same again with the third story.
Every morning I listen to podcasts on Spotify or YouTube. A few mornings ago, I discovered The Novel Marketing podcast, where I finally found a straightforward speaker who didn’t sugarcoat things, engage in pointless banter, or, worst of all, just talk for the sake of talking.
I’ve shared the Spotify link, but you can find this podcast on other platforms too. Please note I personally gain nothing from sharing this podcast; I simply do so in the spirit of sharing information I think you may find useful.
So this time, I have created a more detailed marketing plan that doesn’t involve simply uploading to KDP, social media posts, and a radio interview if I get lucky!
I am thinking ahead, instead of acting impulsively.
Let me know what you think of the above podcast.
What mistakes have you made in your book promotion, and what have you learnt along the way?
