7 Tips for New Photographers — Things to Consider Before You Post Your Pictures Online.

At some point, nearly everyone posts a picture on social media, but it is a whole new ballgame when you decide to show your photography in a more serious way.
It may be that you want to sell prints of your work and intend to use social media to showcase it.
It is likely that you are already on some kind of social media site, be it X, Facebook, Instagram, or Threads, and have some kind of following.
Here are some tips that will hopefully help you protect your photography.
- Remember, you own the copyright to your pictures. If anyone wants to use them, they need your permission.
- When you are uploading to social media, use a lower resolution. If someone pinches your image, they won’t be able to print it off in good quality.
- Adding a copyright mark or your name on the image, to my mind, spoils the picture. If someone is serious about pinching your photo, they can easily remove it. If you look at top photographers such as Nadav Kander or David Yarrow, you won’t see them using copyright…
